A Life in Movies: Blogathon

Novroz tweeted me about an interesting blogathon called A Life in Movies.  She forwarded me an email from Andy of Fandango Groovers Movie Blog, explaining his interesting idea. These are the rules for this blogathon:

• Compile a list of movies, one per year from the year YOU were born up to last year, 2010.
• Publish them on your own blog Sunday 8th May
• Send me a link as soon as possible ideally a week before (thanks to those who have already sent them)
• I will be sending a banner to use at the top of your page, I need some help to create it. All you need to do is email me in the next couple of days a list of around ten movies that will be on your list.

As a movie lover, I HAD to join! I MUST! 🙂

So feast your eyes on my list of movies, ladies and gentlemen. All 20 of them 😀

1990: HOME ALONE. Yes, that cheek-clapping-“Aaaah!”-screaming was *that* memorable, people!

1991: Silence of The Lambs. The movie that made me fell in love with Sir Anthony Hopkins. The man’s a genius!

1992: Aladdin. Pretty much my favorite Disney’s Prince-Princess fairytale of all time 🙂

1993: Jurassic Park. T-Rex. Need I say more?

1994: The Lion King. FAVORITE Disney movie of all time, hands down!

1995: Jumanji. Will never get tired of watching this movie. There are so many favorite scenes here!

1996: Space Jam. “Of all the movies, why this?”, you may ask. Well, simply because it was so memorable for the six-year-old version of me 😛

1997: Children of Heaven. This movie is played on my local TV station possibly on EVERY Islamic holidays. Surely it deserves a spot in this list for being ‘exposed’ *that* much!

1998: The Truman Show. An interesting movie. I enjoyed Carrey’s realistic performance here.

1999: The Matrix. “Holy crap! That hot guy literally just dodged a bullet!”

2000: Billy Elliot: A truly inspiring story.

2001: Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone: I actually knew Harry Potter from the movie first, THEN the books. And I was hooked from the get-go.

2002: A Walk to Remember. Yes, I’m a hopeful romantics.

2003: The Lord of The Ring: Return of The King. Wow. Just….wow!

2004: Finding Neverland. Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Freddie Highmore, and that heart-wrenching last scene. I’m done. *sniff*

2005: The Interpreter. Not a well-known movie by Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman, but it was memorable for me because it showed the dark side of UN.

2006: V for Vendetta: Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving: Outstanding.

2007: August Rush. What I love about this movie the most is that it showcases music at its best, without it being a musical. Oh, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Freddie Highmore also helped 😛

2008: The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger as Joker. Nuff said.

2009: Up. The first 10 minutes of the movie showing Carl and Ellie’s video montage got me. Bad. 🙂

2010: Toys Story 3. I pretty much cried my eyes out in the last 10 minutes of this movie. It was THE perfect way to end one of the most lovable stories in the world.

So there you go. Movies from the year I was born til 2010.
